Mountain climbing

Experts and beginners climb more or less difficult routes in the Mont-Blanc, the Vanoise and the Oisans. The Rhône-Alpes region is the kingdom of high mountains. On snow and rocks, mountain climbing is basically a summer sport.


The best spots...
You will discover about 200 rock spots in the Mont Blanc and the Aiguilles in Chamonix, the Dent Parrachée in the Vanoise, and the Meije in the Oisans...

Glacier walking is definitely one of the most wonderful ways to hike

Glacier walks generally last two days. On the first day you will climb a path to the mountain hut and go to bed early! You get up well before dawn and start the long climb to the top by the light on your helmet! That way, the hike is stress-free! You get to the peak in the pastel hues of early morning, drink your fill of the views and descend, as quickly as possible, in the dazzling whiteness before the sun's heat melts the snow crust.

The Rhône-Alpes is one of the uniqueregion in France where you can go glacier walking.

Useful information…
Glacier walking is worth trying above all from June to September. You walk with crampons and must take a High Mountain guide.

Rates: approximately 250 euros per person in a group for 2 days and 1 night with food provided (guide and gear included). A personal guide costs from 200 euros to 300 euros per day depending on the route (maximum 2 to 4 people per guide)


SUMMER SKIING

Glacier skiing at les 2 Alpes and Tignes is really worth doing during the summer. It is just a matter of snow conditions but there are many other activities to keep you occupied and happy during your holidays.
